The Louisiana Shakespeare Festival
It all began with an idea. When we founded the Louisiana Shakespeare Company in 2023, we knew we wanted to have a Shakespeare festival. We didn’t know what it would look like or involve, but what we DID know was that we wanted it to be family friendly, fun, and free to the public. And in May of 2025, we did just that.
With the help of over 40 volunteers and troupe members, we provided a day of Shakespeare for everyone! With everything from performances from our plays, to our library program, sword and combat demonstrations, Renaissance dancers, a costume exhibit, Cavalier House Books, and a STEM experiment that helped you learn how to make the ink that Shakespeare used, it was a day filled with wonder, joy and Shakespeare.
Thank you to everyone who came out for our 2nd Annual Louisiana Shakespeare Festival! The weather may have ben yucky, but the fun was all around!
